FFA Cornhole Tournament in the multipurpose room during advisory February 26 - March 2.  Sign-up with Mr. Scherer in the Commons during lunch this week.  Cost is $1.00 per person with 2 players per team.  Limited to 20 teams total.



SOFTBALL

Any high school girl interested in playing fall softball next year, please attend an informational meeting Wed., Feb. 21, at 7:45 a.m. in the elementary library.  If you are unable to attend, please see Coach Heuring for the information you will need. 

CHEERLEADING

High School Cheerleading tryouts are March 9th, 10th, 11th in the Elementary Gym. Please sign up in the High School office and pick up your packet.

There will be a soccer meeting during advisory on Tuesday 2/20 in the multi for all girls interested in playing soccer this spring.


Auxiliary Tryouts

8th grade and up interested in auxiliary may pick up paperwork in the band room. Clinic will be March 5th-8th from 5-7pm and Tryouts will be March 9th from 4-7pm. All information should be in the handbook, but if they have any questions they are more than welcome to contact either Lela Carmack or Mr. Kyle.


PPP

Kelly Peer Partnership Program has five tickets left to see Mary Poppins on Friday, Feb. 23rd. Tickets are $15 and lunch will be $8. Please see Mrs. Limbaugh for a permission slip.

Girls Soccer Weight Training : We will meet every Wednesday & Friday 3:15-4:30 , See Coach Powers for schedule.

2 ACT Prep Opportunities:

ACT PREP at SEMO is offered in February, April and May. $25 per subject or $75 for all 4 subject areas. See Mrs. Ratledge for a Registration form.

Any senior can apply for the Missouri Heritage Mutual Insurance Company Scholarship. Deadline is February 28, 2018. See Mrs. Ratledge for the application.

Any female ages 16-20 can apply for the Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship, sponsored by Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau. See Mrs. Ratledge for an application. Deadline is February 28, 2018. 

Braxton Rethwisch Scholarship Now Available - This scholarship is available to high school seniors who exhibit a commitment to learning and have demonstrated leadership skills and community service involvement. Two one-time $1,000 scholarships will be awarded, as well as a one-time $500 scholarship (this year only).  NOTE: Applicants must enroll as a full-time student at a MOACAC member post-secondary institution.  Deadline is March 1, 2018.  Eligibility criteria/application

Any senior majoring in Business, Transportation Logistics and Physical Distribution can apply for the National Defense Transportation Association Scholarship. See Mrs. Ratledge for an application. Deadline is March 1, 2018.

Any Senior with a 2.5 GPA or greater can apply for the Braxton Rethwisch Scholarship. Apply online at:  https://stlouisgraduates.academicworks.com/opportunities/2287Deadline is March 1, 2018.

Any senior majoring in Education is eligible for the local CTA Scholarship. See Mrs. Ratledge for an application. Deadline is March 23, 2018.

Any Senior who intends on majoring in education can apply for the Southeast Missouri Superintendents Association Scholarship. See Mrs. Ratledge for an application.Deadline is March 28, 2018.

Any senior can apply for the "Southeast Missouri Central Labor Council Scholarship". See Mrs. Ratledge for an application. Deadline is March 31, 2018.

Any senior or their parent who has been involved in farming or agribusiness in Scott County is eligible to apply for the local "SCOTT COUNTY WOMEN IN AGRICULTURE" Scholarship. See Mrs. Ratledge for an application. Deadline is April 1, 2018.

Any Senior who is a son or daughter of those who have given their lives in the line of duty, including Military and First Responders, or are disabled to the extent that providing an advanced education cannot be easily realized can apply for the "Missouri Patriot Guard Riders Scholarship".  See Mrs. Ratledge for an application. Deadline is April 1, 2018.

Any Senior who are either members or the son/daughter of an active or deceased member of the Oran Knights of Columbus Council 4311 are eligible to apply for the Oran Knights of Columbus Scholarship. See Mrs. Ratledge for an application. Deadline is April 2, 2018.

The local Benton Chamber of Commerce Scholarship is available to any senior. See Mrs. Ratledge for an application. Deadline is April 2, 2018.


Summer Camp - Any 9th, 10th or 11th grade student can attend the Healthcare Professional Camp this summer June 10-12, 2018. Deadline is April 2, 2018. Apply online at SEhealth.org/HealthcareCamps

AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIPS:

*Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship Fund - Any boy who attended Boys State or Cadet Patrol Academy. Any girl who attended Girls State or Cadet Patrol Academy.

 *MD "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Fun- Any Boy/Girl training to be a registered nurse.

*Joseph J. Frank Scholarship - Any individual who are descendants of a veteran and attend Boys State or Girls State.

 *Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship - Any individual who are current members or descendants of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of the American Legion. 

*Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship - Any individual planning on obtaining a degree in education and is a descendant of a veteran.

*Commander's Scholarship - Any eligible veterans who plan to attend a vocational technical college, college or university in the State of Missouri.

Nursing and Allied Health Deadlines at TRCC. 

AAS-Nursing (RN Program):

Deadline: March 1st for the day program, May 1st for the evening program

Required to apply: 2.0 GPA and a 110 or higher on the NLN PAX-RN exam

After acceptance students will be required to complete Anatomy and Physiology I/II and Intermediate Algebra with a B or higher (not required at time of application)

Practical Nursing Program (Kennett):

Deadline: April 3rd

Required to apply: High school diploma (can be pending May graduation), 2.0 GPA, 58th percentile or higher on the ATI TEAS Exam

Our Poplar Bluff program will have an October 1st deadline

Other application deadlines that will happen this semester include the Paramedic program (May 1st, must be a licensed EMT to apply), the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program (May 31st), and the Medical Laboratory Technology Program (May 15th).  These applications can be found at www.trcc.edu, Admission, Application.  The MLT Application will be changing in the next month to allow for the change to the consortium model.
