The Scott County R-IV School District would like to express its appreciation to Mr. Paul Ruff for volunteering his time, effort, and equipment to clear the school parking lots. THANK YOU, Mr. Ruff!!

The Scott County R-IV Board of Education meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 16, 2021 is tentatively rescheduled for Thursday, February 18, 2021 due to inclement weather/hazardous road conditions. We will update you with a definite date, time, and type (virtual or in-person) as soon as the details have been finalized. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

In accordance  with recent CDC guidelines, the Scott County R-IV School District is implementing a change in our quarantine procedures. The primary change on campus is that masked close contacts of a covid-posiitve person will NOT be quarantined unless a parent chooses to do so. Keep in mind that students may not be masked during lunch, pe, band, choir, and some other activities. In these cases, the student may be quarantined as they have all year. Please see the poster from the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE) and the Missouri Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) titled “Wear a mask. Stay in School”.

It is important to note however, that masked close contacts will still be quarantined from extra-curricular activities. This is based on the guidance from Governor Mike Parsons, DESE, and DHHS. Please see the document titled “Missouri School Reopening & Operating Guidelines FAQ”. Specifically, please see Q21 that says “This guidance does not authorize a close contact to participate in school-associated sports, extracurricular activities, or any other activities outside of the school setting. Other than attending school, these close contacts should continue to quarantine.”

Any student currently under quarantine that may be impacted by this decision will be contacted by one of the school nurses. The next regularly scheduled board meeting is Tuesday February 9. These procedures may be revisited at that time.
