NEW MESSAGE FROM DR. COGDILL - SEPT 29, 2020:

As of Sept 29th, we wanted to make you aware of another situation that was recently brought to our attention. Scott County R IV officials were notified that a teacher at the elementary school had received a lab-confirmed positive COVID-19 test. The infected individual was last in attendance on September 22nd.  Students and staff members who came into contact with the infected individual have already been notified.

After the completion of contact tracing, all areas of the building that the positive case was in during the infectious period have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. According to the Centers for Disease Control, people with COVID-19 have a wide range of symptoms similar to the flu or cold including fever, coughing and shortness of breath. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. The CDC says it is spread via person-to-person contact via contaminated air droplets. If you are exhibiting symptoms or believe you may have been exposed, please call your medical provider.

The safety of our staff and students remains our top priority. As a school community we will continue to follow recommended guidelines from county health officials.

Respectfully,

Scott County IV Administrative Team.
