Good morning. Unfortunately, the fog on the north side of the district from 77 to Commerce has not lifted yet and due to timing for buses, we will have to delay one more hour. Some parts of the district are completely clear while others only have a line of sight of one telephone pole. We will continue to err on the side of caution and delay for one more hour and make a decision a final decision by 9:30. #HawkNation

The Kelly Hawks family is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Trey Simmons. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with the Simmons family during this incredibly difficult time.

To show our support, Kelly Hawks students and staff may wear a hat or school-appropriate pajamas tomorrow, Tuesday, February 10th, for a $1.00 donation, with all proceeds going to support the Simmons family. Middle school and high school students will make their donations in the school offices, while elementary students will donate in their classrooms.

In addition, donation boxes will be available at all home Kelly Hawks basketball games this week for anyone who would like to contribute.

Thank you, Hawk Nation, for coming together to support one another when it matters most. 💛🦅

Good afternoon. I apologize, we left one alternate stop off the list. The students on Sandy Lane will have to meet the bus at Sandy Lane and Hwy 77. I am hopeful for more melting tomorrow during the day but as we learn more, I will provide updates. Have a great evening. Dr. Kolwyck

Due to several roads in the district still creating hazardous travel conditions, Scott County R4 will not be in session tomorrow, Tuesday February 3rd. It will be AMI Day #5. Stay warm and be safe. #HawkNation

Good afternoon Hawk Nation! Due to the lack of melting on many county roads throughout the district, Scott County R-IV will NOT be in session tomorrow, February 2nd. We are hopeful the air temperature will be above freezing tomorrow and allow enough melting to return on Tuesday. If you live in an area that is still snow/ice covered and ride a bus, it is possible that an alternative pick-up/drop-off location will need to be established until the roads are in better condition. Someone from school will reach out to you about it tomorrow. Tomorrow will be AMI Day #4. Be safe and stay warm! #HawkNation

Good afternoon. After touring the district, it is highly unlikely several side roads and neighborhoods will be safe for our buses to travel on the rest of the week. With that in mind, we will not be in session the remainder of the week and will have to utilize AMI DAYS #2 and #3. We will try again on Monday. Be safe and stay warm. #HawkNation

Dear Parent/Guardian:

The district is taking part in the Missouri School Climate and Culture Survey. Results from this survey will be used as part of the school improvement review during the 2025-2026 academic year. As part of this process, parents, students, and school employees are asked to complete surveys regarding the programs and services available to students voluntarily.

Please take a few minutes to answer the survey at the link provided. Responses from all parents will be anonymously summarized and will become part of a report for the school district. The school district will use this report in the development of school improvement efforts.

If you have more than one child in school, please complete a survey for each child. The surveys will be processed so that school officials receive reports about each building in the district.

The questionnaires contain demographic and opinion questions. You have the option not to respond to any item or not to complete a survey at all.

Thank you for your help.

Dr. Kolwyck
