Hawk Nation! Welcome the new head Kelly Hawks Cross Country coach, Mrs. Kendra Evans! Coach Evans has been in the district for over 20 years as a teacher and coach. Coach Evans will begin practice next week. Please see the message below from Coach Evans.

Looking for all participants who have a passion for running or just want to get in shape for a winter sport. Join me, Kendra Evans, on July 22nd at 6:00 AM. I know it's early, but I would like to beat the heat, and maybe there won't be conflicts for those who are working a summer job. We should be done by 7:30. For the remainder of the summer, I would like to meet for the next two weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays-July 22, 24, 29, and 31 at 6:00 AM. We will start in the elementary gym. Please eat a light snack, like a granola bar or fruit. Nutrition is vital. Hope to see you there, and looking forward to meeting my cross-country family!

Good morning, Hawk Nation! Students who ride a bus and live in the Sloanville area will need to meet at the junction of 448 and 405 this morning. ##HawkNation

Good afternoon, Hawk Nation! The faculty and staff are excited to see the students back on campus tomorrow for each building's end-of-year activities. The district will continue to serve the community however is needed in the coming days, weeks, and months. For tomorrow, please know that hot meals and food packs will be available for to-go only. If you need a meal or food box, please call the district office at 573-545-3541 ext. 500 tomorrow between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. Don't forget that the Lady Hawks Basketball team is collecting clothing donations to help those in need. They will host a clothing drive on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm in the multipurpose gym. The doors will be open to anyone, with or without students in the district, who was affected by the tornado. The school offices will be open daily from May 27th to June 19th for summer school. Good morning. To provide continued support for the community, the school will be open today and tomorrow from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm for anyone who needs lunch. We will provide a hot meal and to-go food packs for anyone who needs assistance. Please help get the word out. Good afternoon, Hawk Nation! My heart goes out to everyone affected by the tornado on Friday afternoon. I continue to pray for the families who have suffered devastating loss, both property and life. In the aftermath of such a destructive storm, school leaders, faculty, and staff often worry about what course of action to take with the school. After much prayer and discussion, I have decided to close school on Monday and Tuesday this week to allow families and the community more time to focus on themselves and not on school. In collaboration with our wonderful administration, faculty, and staff, the following adjustments will take place for next week. (PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH) 1. No school on Monday or Tuesday. Students will return on Wednesday for the half day for closure to this school year. They will clean out lockers, desks, etc. PM Preschool will also attend this day. 2. Counselors will be available all day Monday (in-house and Bootheel Counseling) for anyone, adult or student, who needs their services. This initial service will be paid for by the school. 3. Middle school and high school finals are NOT mandatory. They are optional and can be taken on Monday or Tuesday from 8:30 am - 2:00 pm. 4. 8th grade graduation is rescheduled for WEDNESDAY at 7:00 pm (Students arrive at 6:00 pm). They will practice on Wednesday morning at school. 5. The 5th grade celebration is on Wednesday morning. 6. Childcare will be available to the public from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm (no bus transportation). 7. Our wonderful kitchen staff (Aramark) will be providing to-go lunch and snacks on Monday and Tuesday. Look for pick-up times later tonight. 8. Sponsors and/or administration will be in contact with students who need to take Beta tests or EOC/MAP to finish the year. 9. Planned end-of-year athletic banquets will move forward as planned. The school offices will be open and staff will be at work Monday and Tuesday, 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, for anyone who would like to donate to help the families of our school community. I have had several people reach out asking how they can help with the tornado damage recovery. If you would like to support them with monetary donations, feel free to email me, and I will work a way around for the school to collect donations and get them to the families. Due to the forecasted incoming weather tomorrow, Friday, May 16th, during regular dismissal time, Scott County R-IV will now dismiss at 12:45 pm to ensure all students and staff arrive home safely before the storms. All after school activites are also canceled tomorrow. #HawkNation
